Moving can be stressful. Uprooting your family or business and packing up your belongings to travel to a new city can leave you feeling disoriented for days, even weeks after you have moved into your new house or building. Moving Soon? Don’t know how to start the packing? Well, don’t fret. We are here to help you pack like a pro.
How To Pack Like A Pro for a Move
Choose the Right Boxes
To pack like a pro, you will need the right boxes. You can buy them from your moving company or a local hardware store if your budget allows, or you could get them for free from retail stores around the block. Save the smaller boxes for heavier items (like books, canned foods, silverware, picture frames) and the little stuff lying around. Use the largest ones for pillows, blankets, and lighter-weight items. Opt for specialty boxes for more delicate things, including mirrors, dishes, and crystal articles with loads of padding in between.
Do Not Overfill Boxes
To pack like a pro means knowing when a box is full and ready to be closed up. Overfilling boxes not only makes them heavy but also makes them liable to burst open at inconvenient times. Make a soft base using packing paper, bubble wrap, or even clothes and once you have about 5-10 pounds of stuff in a box, fill the rest with the same for a firm box.
Properly Label Your Belongings
Use markers and labels to mark the boxes! Counter-write it on your list with the products you put in the box. This saves you time when you are unpacking and know exactly where a needed item is. Also, it also comes into play in case you the movers accidentally lose a box.
